Well, that was harder than I expected.

First (and only so far) carp of 2017 came a couple of weeks ago. Slow start to the year. Dang it.

New Year's Day 2016

Sort of. I can never shake the feeling that the year really hasn't started until I've caught the first carp of the season. First carp of 2016 came on Friday, 3/25. I briefly considered staying up until midnight, shooting off some fireworks and swilling cheap champagne straight from the bottle. My wife argued persuasively against that.

Anyway, hello 2016.
